By the skin of our teeth, as always...

Well, we voted. We were the very last people in our precinct, and walked through the doors exactly two minutes before the polls closed, to the applause and laughter of all the volunteers. Little Eric filled in my ballot. I voted for Obama, I don't mind saying, and for whoever was running against Elizabeth Dole, and for someone named Winkie, because how could you not?

And, before I go feed the babe, a list of things that Brigham currently will not eat:

1. coconut
2. unmelted cheddar cheese
3. water without ice cubes in it

Now doesn't it feel good to have voted for the right person?

Hey a vote is a vote, especially when it's for Mr. Awesome. Have you read what other countries are saying about his win? It is inspiring all over again! I don't blame Brigham's dislike for coconut. I hated it as a kid and I still do! Evil things!

I;m so glad you found my blog!! I think about you guys and am just terrible at keeping in touch--which is why I started the blog this year but as you can see I dont' do it as much as I should! Congrats on your new little one!! that is so exciting and I loved reading your birth story!! I did both my kids natural with hypnobirthing and loved it. The first I had the midwives and loved it. The second was harder because now I have to take blood thinners and have to go to an OB and had to be induced but I got through it. though I wish I could have the birthing center like you!! I cant' wait to see all that your doing keep better in touch!! I love all the pics and you all look so great!! Love you guys!!

Thank you for sharing your life in this beautiful blog. I found you whilst researching a bit of background and commentary about one of my favorite childrens books, The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes. (I was wondering if anyone else saw her as the ultimate feminist/mother - confident, patient wise and kind...raised her babies without apology and taught them all well so that she could leave them when the time came) Yes...you saw it too! At first I was a little put off by your link to LDS (I am athiest), I decided to "learn" more about you...click to today's post. You voted for Obama! (why am I so surprised?) It is amazing how much more people are alike than different when we give each other room to share. This is what Obama has talked about... reaching out to one another, beyond differences, gathering strength from out shared humanity. I loved seeing your family and remembering the wonderful (and terrible) days when my own beautiful children were new. They are both now suddenly grown and gone. Getting used to an empty nest is as strange and sudden as having that first baby. The bad days you blogged are as good as it gets for making real connection. Your sons commentary about breast feeding - priceless. (isn't it crazy that our culture is so skittish about something so normal that they wouldn't know!)And, I really like your music playlist too! Keep up the good works. So..anyway, you are terrific and I wish you and your lovely family the best. Thanks! LK
